Ode to Duct Tape

                                    When you walked out of my life

                                    and publicly slammed the door—

                                    I held my heart together with

                                    duct tape.

                                    Now I will admit

                                    that this ain’t

                                    no damn ode

                                    and I am out

                                    of duct tape, too.

                                    My Humpty

                                    Dumpty

                                    heart can’t

                                    be put back

                                    together again.
